From Common Interest to the Specific Community!

The approaches are strategically employed to interact with other countries. In recent times, due to the deepening level of globalization and transnational activities, the states will also have to interact with non-state actors. The aforementioned interaction is evaluated and monitored in attempts to maximize benefits of multilateral international cooperation. Since the national interest is paramount, foreign policies are designed by the government through high-level decision making processes. National interest’s accomplishment can occur as a result of peaceful cooperation with other nations, or through exploitation. Usually, creating foreign policy is the job of the head government and the foreign policy (or equivalent). In some countries the legislature also has considerable oversight.
A diplomat will likely to have a more complex estimate or knowledge of other governments. His estimate, however, will certainly be simplistic and heavily influenced by his own perceptual blinders, leading him to faulty policy judgments. The need of a theoretical framework of foreign policy is needed to analyze the day-to-day interactions in international relations and to compare individual foreign policies. Furthermore, the need for a theoretical framework for the analysis of foreign policy is not only academic. It is also political because of the increasing degree of interdependence and collective global interests.
The UN is not a world government and it can only do what its Member States agree to do. It does, however, provide the means to help resolve international conflicts and formulate policies on matters affecting all of us. At the UN, all the Member States — large and small, rich and poor, with differing political views and social systems — have a voice in this process.


Peace and security
The United Nations is often called upon to prevent disputes from escalating into war, to persuade opposing parties to use negotiation rather than force, or to help restore peace when conflict breaks out. Avoiding military conflict is not enough to establish a secure and lasting peace. Such
Security can only be achieved by helping countries to develop sound economies, social justice, human rights protection, good governance and the democratic process, while attached other imperative activities.

·         Developing and advising the government on foreign policy options
·         Communicating the government’s foreign policy position
·         Assisting other ministries and agencies in their international dealings
